Waltham, MA., September 24, 1998
LINK Medical Computing, Inc. today confirmed
that it would continue providing uninterrupted support for
Summit customers who have existing LINKTools interfaces
and those who may otherwise require LINKs products
and services now and in the future.
In the past two years, LINK had become Summits
preferred integration partner for hemodynamic monitors,
ADT, results and charges interfaces into/out-of Summit Vista
and for hemodynamic interfaces into Summits Crescendo
database. On June 10, 1998, Summit announced that
it would transition out of the healthcare provider software
market. LINK will continue providing uninterrupted
installation and post-warranty support for all its' Summit
interface customers until June 1999. Support beyond that
date will be available directly from LINK.
"We have enjoyed an excellent relationship
with Summit in the past and respect their need to re-focus
their business as appropriate. At the same time, it
was important for LINK that customers know they have uninterrupted
support in the interim and a knowledgeable, proven integration
partner for the future," said Andreas Theodosiou, Executive
Vice President at LINK Medical. "LINKs
familiarity with Summits products and our knowledge
of interfacing cardiology systems in general are available
to customers who need it."
All LINK interfaces are based on its
core
LINKTools Integration
Engine, a suite of core integration and data migration
modules that form the building blocks for interfaces developed
by LINK or associated LINKTools Partners. As customers
evaluate their options for the future, LINKTools allows
LINK to reconfigure an existing interface to meet that customers
needs. In many cases, this will lead to a reduction
in the cost and effort that is typically associated with
a new interface installation.
LINK Medical Computing, Inc. was founded
in 1991 and is headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts.
The company develops and markets its LINKTools integration
"toolkit" and data migration services on behalf
of instrument and systems vendors such as Siemens Medical,
Burdick Instruments, Del Mar Avionics, Summit Medical, Marquette
Electronics and Hewlett Packard. LINKTools is a highly
flexible, cost-effective suite of integration modules that
automate the capture, merge, management and distribution
of HIS, ancillary systems and instrument data.
