LINKMED®
Interface Total Cost of Ownership
1- Cost effective:
Complete Solutions for HL7 Interface with LINKMED® IDK Interface In-A-Box
With fixed
budgets and a focus on strict cost control, healthcare
organizations and system vendors are driven to seek-out
alternatives that lower the cost of systems and application
integration. Cost is more than just the price of the initial
development kit and subsequent license fees. It includes
the time and effort required in learning a new integration
tool, the wage/salary levels of the individuals using
the tool, and the time, effort and skill set required
to implement and support each interface successfully.
LINK Medical has priced LINKMED® Interface Software
with this in mind. Moreover, as described below, the ease-of-use
and flexibility inherent in LINKMED® Interface software
guarantees you an interface that is the most cost effective
to learn, configure, install, test, and most importantly,
support over the long run.
The LINKMED® Interface Toolkit
comes complete with software and applications to start
developing your interface right out of the box. You get
the eighth generation of LINK Medical software technologies
upfront plus 12 years of practical integration experience.
Time requires in developing and implementing your first
interface is shorter and learning LINKMED® applications
take about an hour via the Internet, Most of LINKMED®
Training classes takes only 3 days and requires staff
with only interest, your programmers will be happy because
there is no programming codes for them to write instead
they learn how to use a non-invasive approach via a GUI
environment to implement a complex interface(s). Should
your staffing change, you can quickly retraining personnel
to use LINKMED®.
2-
No Programming vs. Programming:
Absolutely No Programming with LINKMED® IDK software
The LINKMED® Interface Technologies makes use of Dynamic
Configuration features one of its core technologies, effectively
eliminate the need for programming. This new technology
provides you and your organization a turnkey solution for
implementing the interfaces for multiple disparate systems
and applications, and it also distinguishes us from other
vendors with similar products in the market today. Others
Vendors promote the use of COM Objects, Active X, or DLLS
generators require that the user allocate of scarce engineers/programmers
to write program and debug the interfaces. Each time a site
requires modifications, or a new site (with its own unique
requirements) is implemented, the programming group is called
upon to recode/recompile and participates in testing and
installation. Moreover, given that most support organizations
do not have programming resources, the programming group
needs to actively participate in ongoing support as problems
occur and needs evolve.
On the other hand, LINK Medical provides solution with the
introduction of the LINKMED® Dynamic Mapper. Using
the LINKMED® Dynamic Mapper, an installer is able
to configure and build an Interface Template with point
and click ease. No code needs to be generated and changes
can easily be made remotely and on the fly.
3- Small Footprint and a Small Learning
Curve:
The smaller sizes of the LINKMED® Interface Templates/configuration
files allow easy remote installation and support. More importantly,
templates can easily be reused at different sites that have
similar interface configuration requirements. The highly
intuitive GUI driven Mapping feature allows a knowledgeable
installer with a reasonable understanding of computing to
learn how the tool can be used to configure and implement
a typical interface in one to three days.
4- Software Platform:
The LINKMED® IEt is Windows® based
software, compatible with Windows NT, 98, 2000, XP, Vista,
server 2000/2003 and above. All LINKMED® Products are
written in C/C++, ensuring reliability, speed and efficiency.
Communication with non-Windows® platforms is via the
network or TCP/IP connection.
